O’Gorman Cuts Childcare Costs (Again)

At the start of September, childcare costs for most parents fell again. This is the second year in a row that I have been able to save parents money, and make childcare more affordable, by investing in the National Childcare Scheme (NCS).

In 2024-25, a family using fulltime childcare for 45 hours per week will save up to €1,731 per child. This is on top of the €2,100 saved by the reductions I brought in in 2023-24.

As Green Party leader, I committed to halving childcare costs for parents and I’m pleased to have delivered on this commitment.
