Auburn Avenue Cycling Route Consultation is now open.

 I am pleased to see that Fingal County Council is proposing a new walking and cycling route for Castleknock. his new route will help people of all abilities to enjoy a feeling of safety when walking and wheeling. Safe pathways and segregated cycle lanes are designed to link local schools, sport and shopping. The route will also connect to the wider public transport network for those taking longer journeys. The consultation is open from today (the 16th of August) and closes on the until 13th of September

 

The proposed works include:

  • 2km of new protected cycle lanes

  • 3 new bus friendly pedestrian crossings near Stockton Green, Hadleigh Green and Auburn Drive

  • New zebra crossings and cycle track added to roundabout

  • Bus stop upgrades to allow bikes to safely pass

  • Changes to junctions along the route to make crossing the road safer

  • Traffic calming measures including ramps to control vehicle speed on the Old Navan Road 

 

This consultation will remain open for a period of four weeks, from Friday 16th August 2024 until 23.59hrs Friday 13th September 2024.
