New play area proposed at Hazelbury Park

Fingal County Council is proposing to build a new play area in Hazelbury Park between Castlegrange, Hansfield and Castaheany.

The Council is currently undertaking an official planning consultation to get residents' views on these proposals. Following this, local councillors will decide whether the proposed play area goes ahead or not.

The new play area would include:

  • Approximately 20 pieces of play equipment within the site boundary.

  • Swings and climbing structures, with height not exceeding 4m.

  • A double width accessible embankment slide.

  • A canvas shade structure 3-4m high is proposed in the picnic area.

  • 6 bicycle parking spaces (including 2 cargo bike stands) will be included using Sheffield type bicycle stands.

  • The site will include a wetland area where all storm-water runoffs will be directed.

  • An area of grassland will be maintained as natural meadow.

  • Approximately 10 trees will be planted and no trees will be removed during construction.

  • One disabled car parking space will be located beside the nearest entrance point.

You can look over the plans and make a submission via the Consult Fingal Website: https://consult.fingal.ie/en/browse

The submission deadline is Wednesday 27 August, at 4.30pm.
