10 years of Sonas in Dublin 15

Roderic O'Gorman with Fiona Ryan, CEO Sonas, celebrating 10 years of Sonas in Dublin 15.

Yesterday I attended the launch of the Sonas Domestic Violence Charity Annual Impact Report 2019. This launch also provided an opportunity to celebrate the 10 years which Sonas have been providing vital support services to women and children in Dublin 15.

Through its outreach, emergency refuge homes, legal support and supported housing programmes, Sonas keeps women and children safe from domestic abuse.

I, along with the entire community in Dublin 15, are deeply appreciative of the care Sonas has provided to women and children over the last 10 years and I would like to thank each and every one of the staff for their commitment to women and children over the last decade.

Thank you to Fiona Ryan, CEO Sonas, and her team for inviting me to the launch today and for giving me a tour of the refuge. It was incredibly valuable to hear about the realities of domestic violence frontline services and the impact they have on women and children.

To find out more about Sonas and the services they provide for women and children have a look at their website.
