Kellystown's Cemetery Update

Residents in Dublin 15 have been waiting for a long time for the promised graveyard at Kellystown to be delivered. Issues with land ownership have resulted in a delays to this project which is badly needed in the area.

I am happy to let you know that Fingal County Council has taken a significant step towards , delivering the a new cemetery in Kellystown. In recent budget discussion, the Council reiterated its’ commitment to delivering this cemetery to meet the needs of the community. As part of the plans in the capital program, the Council has started the tender process for the new cemetery. Pending a successful tender process and subsequent scheduling, the Council aims to have the selected contractor commence construction on the new cemetery site by the end of April or May.

It's worth noting that, under the Burial Ground Bye-Laws of 2023, the purchase of burial plots cannot be made in advance. This means that the allocation of plots will not be made until the cemetery is completed.

Delivery of the graveyard in Kellystown is something I have been working on since becoming a Councillor for the area back in 2014. I am delighted to see this project starting to progress and will continue to provide updates on the progress of the delivery of the Kellystown graveyard on my website and social media channels.
