Green Party Dublin West representative, Roderic O’Gorman has welcomed the commitment by Fingal County Council to look again at the possibility of placing double yellow lines at the entrance to Ashleigh estate in Castleknock.
“Over the summer I was contacted by resident of Ashleigh estate who were concerned about dangerous double parking along the entrance road which was causing significant difficulties for accessing their estate”.
“The Council had previously examined the area in conjunction with the Gardai and it had been decided not to proceed with double yellow lines. However, as a result of my representations, the Council has agreed to examine the situation with the Gardai again”.
“I am delighted that the Council is prepared to reconsider its position on this matter. The recent experience of Woodpark estate in Blanchardstown shows how the use of double yellow lines at the entrance to estates can significantly improve access and safety for residents”, stated Roderic O’Gorman.
